What is Trezor Bridge?
Trezor Bridge is a small background service that enables secure USB communication between your Trezor device and supported browsers or the Trezor Suite desktop app. If your browser can’t see your device, installing Bridge usually fixes it.
- Built for hardware-wallet communication
- No private keys leave the device
- Works with Chrome, Brave, Edge (and more)
- Fallback when WebUSB is unreliable
- Small footprint, runs in the tray
- Official Trezor component
Tip: On some systems WebUSB may be enough. If the device isn’t detected, install Bridge.
Get Trezor Bridge for Your OS

before downloading.
Install & Connect in 5 Steps
Close Trezor Suite and disconnect the device before installing Bridge.
Run the installer for your OS and follow the prompts. On Linux, install udev rules if offered.
This lets the browser register the Bridge helper. A full OS restart rarely hurts if issues persist.
Launch Trezor Suite (desktop recommended) or connect via a supported browser.
Unlock with your PIN and, if enabled, passphrase. You should see your accounts immediately.
Device Not Detected? Try This
- Use a data-capable USB cable
- Try another USB port (no hubs)
- Quit and reopen your browser
- Restart Trezor Suite / your OS
- Disable conflicting extensions
- Ensure “sites can use USB devices” is allowed
- Confirm udev rules are installed
- Add your user to
plugdev
if required

. - Verify addresses and actions on your Trezor screen—never trust the computer alone.
- Keep Trezor Suite, Bridge, and firmware up to date.
- Your recovery seed never belongs on a keyboard or camera. Store it offline.
